This page reproduces a page from my KS3 Options in History textbook, The Twentieth Century (1995).

It is old, and very basic, but may have use as a starter-exercise before you go on to expand and deepen your knowledge/understanding.

 

 

WAS APPEASEMENT WRONG?

Consider:

1. Separate the comments into those which support/justify appeasement, and those which criticise it.

2. Weight the sources for validity and relevance. Sort the two lists into order of influence.

3. Discuss the issues with a friend/ work-partner; if this were all the evidence/arguments available, what would you be inclined to think of appeasement as a policy?
