This page reproduces a page from my KS3 Options in History textbook, The Twentieth Century (1995).

It is old, and very basic, but may have use as a starter-exercise before you go on to expand and deepen your knowledge/understanding.

Consider:

An essay paragraph should have at least three key elements - a clear statement of the Point/idea; Evidence to prove the point is valid; Explanation of how the idea addresses/answers the essay question (PEE)

1. Match the Points (on the left) to the Evidence (on the right).

2. Working with a friend/ work-partner, discuss how each point/idea actually explains/answers the question: 'Why Appeasement?'

3. Write up your points/ evidences/ explanations as a six-paragraph essay, PEE-ing every paragraph.
